In “Unpredictable Outcome: Unmasking My Faith” (published by AuthorHouse), she shares the story of how her faith grew amidst broken circumstances, how her faith led her towards what is truly real, and how her faith strengthened her when everything was falling apart. This is an honest recollection of how her faith formed her life, her faith journey.
“In my spiritual reformation, God revealed himself differently. He showed up the way He wanted to show up! No trappings, no rules, no lists, just there. All along, I thought I needed to be a certain way, dress a certain way, speak a certain way, walk, sing, eat, simply breathe a certain way, yet God wanted me. Just as I am,” Mata points out. “The revelation of it all was incredibly painful. It was raw. I needed to look at myself in the mirror with no adornments and see the real me. I saw myself clearly.”
After reading “Unpredictable Outcome: Unmasking My Faith,” Mata hopes people will realize that they do not have to show up with trappings and follow a list of dos and don’ts or meet expectations that are man-made. Instead, they should let God reveal himself to them and not let someone else fabricate what that is.
